Explore how Reveal developed a HIPAA-compliant mobile app to facilitate virtual intake for patients not able or willing to visit clinics in person.

Keeping Safe Distance

The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted most aspects of the healthcare industry including how patients could access care. As social distancing norms were put in place to mitigate the spread of the virus, our client understood that patients are either not able or unwilling to visit clinics in person. They wanted a virtual patient intake mechanism for sleep apnea patients that would collect the critical details and identify the appropriate Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) device size.

Reveal’s App Revolution

Reveal understood the client’s requirements and designed a virtual workflow for patient intake that met the critical elements of patients and providers. The workflow collected key details from the patient to identify the appropriate CPAP device size. Based on this workflow, a HIPAA-compliant app was developed from scratch and deployed to beta customers in just 6 weeks.

Impact Generated

Using the virtual patient intake app built by Reveal, our client remotely processed thousands of patients without risking their safety. The app was such a success that their CEO specifically called out the project in the company’s quarterly earnings call as a

demonstration of agility.
